The Conference will start with an Opening Ceremony on 24th February 2008 at
which politicians, policy makers, high profile figures in HIV / AIDS and
international media will be present. The conference will run for three days each
of which will contain:
Plenary sessions, and presentations of original research
Cross-track sessions
Round table discussion sessions
Symposia and satellite meetings
Poster sessions and exhibitions
The Conference would strive to achieve the following objectives:
To provide updates on recent microbicide research
To provide a forum for the discussion of new developments in microbicide research
including basic science, clinical, social science, behavioural, community and
advocacy issues
To present opportunities for knowledge-sharing between microbicide
researchers, public health workers, communities and advocacy organisations
